1st Shift Construction Supervisor
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising construction and non-routine maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mining facilities, equipment and infrastructure. This position combines technical design work, hands-on leadership, and oversight of non-routine maintenance and construction projects. The role requires strong knowledge of mechanical systems, rigging, pump systems, maintenance best practices, project management, and CAD experience a bonus. The position is based at a surface mining operation, with the majority of time spent working in industrial plants and outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and supervise maintenance personnel to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards.
Coordinate maintenance activities with plant superintendents to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
Identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
Conduct root cause failure analyses and recommend correct actions.
Help identify place process deficiencies and work to provide solutions, including concepts, designing, building, and installation.
Design and review modifications to existing equipment, facilities, and systems.
Provide technical expertise for installations, upgrades, and repairs.
Assist plant superintendents and purchasing manager with equipment selection, procurement, and specification development.
Ensure all designs and projects comply with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure quality workmanship.
Mange project schedules, timelines, and planning activities through the project life cycle.
Provide occasional after-hours and emergency response support if required.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred mechanical engineering or trade school/industrial maintenance apprenticeship.
5+ years of mining/industrial maintenance and fabrication experience.
Experience in supervising maintenance personnel, contractors, and construction crews.
Knowledge of industrial machinery, conveyors, crushers, pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to stand, walk, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials required by job.
Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by job.
