1st Shift Diesel Mechanic
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing mining equipment and machinery. They must ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and safely, performing preventative maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting equipment problems. The Diesel Mechanic must also be able to diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct preventative maintenance on mining equipment and machinery.
· Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
· Repair and replace faulty equipment parts.
· Weld and fabricate equipment parts as needed.
· Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning.
· Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and regulations.
· Document maintenance and repair activities.
· Work closely with other departments to ensure efficient operations.
· Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Completion of a formal mechanic training program or relevant experience.
· Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems preferred.
· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
· Strong problem-solving skills.
· Attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
· Willingness to work flexible hours and on call as needed.
· Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
· Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
· Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
· Ability to operate and repair equipment in cramped and confined spaces.
Pay Range: $28-$35/hour
